The ECMWF Model predicts that a tropical storm with a minimum pressure willform sometime around June 11 around where Alberto and Beryl formed. Coming off of Florida, the storm, situated between 2 high pressure systems, is expected to chute off into the NE after formation. While the forecast range is long-term, the ECMWF has been an accurate model in the past.
If Chris forms on June 11, then 2012 will tie the record for the earliest date that a third Atlantic storm formed. The current record is Storm #3 from 1887, which formed on June 11. Second place goes to the 1959 Escumiac Hurricane, which formed on the 18th.
