The 2009 Atlantic hurricane season was an inactive season due to a moderate El Nino. Due to this, the 2009 Pacific hurricane season was very active. The first cyclone formed on May 28, 2009 and the final storm dissipated on November 10, 2009. The strongest storm of the season was Hurricane Bill which reached Category 4 status and had winds of 135 mph. Tropical Storm Grace formed at a near-record high latitude, only Tropical Storm Alberto of 1988 formed further north.
